Anti-virus Software
Panda software - includes Free computer scan after ActiveX download
Grisoft - AVG - excellent Free anti-virus program - highly recommended
Trend Micro - Free computer scan and other free utilities
Symantic Security Check - Free computer scan
Firewalls
Only one firewall should be installed at a time. If you use a third party firewall product such as those below, be sure to turn off the pre-installed Windows firewall.
Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall - Free firewall software
Zone Alarm Firewall - Free firewall software
Spyware Software
Spybot Search & Destroy - Easy to use spyware program. Free, but worth a donation.
Spyblaster by Javacool - Catches spyware before it gets in.
Ad-aware by Lavasoft - Detects trojans,malware, hijackers and more. Free download.
Good-n-Free Internet Browser
Firefox - An excellent and safe internet browser sans the IE headaches. Security features and tabs included!

Google Pack - Free software from Google
You can download the whole pack or just choose the ones you want. We suggest some of the following:
Google Earth is just plain cool! You've got to try it.
Picasa is a great tool for organizing your photos. It will scan your computer and file all you images for easy retrieval in the future. It also contains some editing capabilities.
Google Desktop is great for those who seem to lose things easily. Google desktop will scan your computer once (which may take a few minutes) and then searching becomes much easier. It will even search through olde-mails.
Google Toolbar allows you to search google at anytime from your browsers toolbar. It also blocks annoying pop-ups and has a neat autofill feature to save time filling out forms.
